Based on the above definition of entrepreneurship from the Business Dictionary (2019), the word entrepreneurship can take on different meanings in people’s minds. On one-hand, entrepreneurship can pertain to senior level executives who work for a Fortune 500 company. Alternatively, entrepreneurship can relate to the activities of a family who operate a shop down the block. Ultimately, entrepreneurship encompasses anyone who is inspired to start a journey of building a business with the goal to make a profit.
Central to the meaning of entrepreneurship is the willingness of someone to take the initiative and face the challenges and risks in order to build a business for a better life. Entrepreneurship is about the spirit and drive to succeed in business. Through entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs are created and they are the pioneers, innovators and leaders that drive the economies of the United States and countries throughout the world.
In the spirit of the above-mentioned definition of entrepreneurship, the Core Vision® Foundation was formed to encourage and support immigrants and underserved people as they aspire to become entrepreneurs and begin their journey to break the vicious cycle of poverty. It is a core belief of the Core Vision® Foundation that through the process of being an entrepreneur, people can create strategies that will define pathways to break the cycle of poverty.
Through entrepreneurship, opportunities for success can be created and people can become empowered to achieve financial success that will better their lives, the lives of their families as well as benefit their communities.
Entrepreneurs create jobs and the conditions for a prosperous society. Entrepreneurs are critical to the long-term health of a society. It is the goal of the Core Vision® Foundation to encourage and support the most vulnerable of our society as they strive to climb the economic ladder to success.
